Ubisoft deploys two unpopular advertising touchstones in this clip, and actually manages to make them somewhat palatable. The first is the fake viral video. An extravagantly bearded man sits on his couch in his PJ’s, playing guitar as his baby looks on. He then passes the guitar to touchstone #2: preternaturally talented baby, who plays a jaunty lead with the help of a little CGI. The mother, off camera, is predictably amused.

The ad wisely avoids the kind of uncanniness endemic to the ETrade baby, along with the nauseating copy. Instead, they manage a clever metaphorical demonstration of how pretty much anyone can use Rocksmith to learn how to play guitar.
