S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 won't be based on the cancelled original

While GSC game world gave word that a sequel to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was once again under development about a year ago, it's been fairly quiet on the details ever since, but thanks to a new interview via YouTuber Antishnaps, we've learned a few more details about the game.

The original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was cancelled a few years after it was first announced, when studio GSC temporarily had to close down back in 2012. Much like GameFront, however, the company was revived and work on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was revealed to be underway a year ago.

What we've learned is that this new reboot of the project won't be borrowing anything from the original, and will instead be an entirely new concept built from the ground up.

The team also confirmed that the studio has assembled the largest team it has ever put together to make the project a reality, but other than that, there's still scant detail on exactly what we should expect - except to say there's one thing we couldn't. The studio confirmed that a Battle Royale mode would not be coming.

Apparently, though, there's still some hidden secrets to find on the official website, with the official announcement apparently containing secret codes for fans to crack, according to the company.

Stay tuned to GameFront for more on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2  as we learn it.
