Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor will have an Ultra setting on PCs that requires 6GB of VRAM.
The requirements, which were revealed in a screenshot posted to NeoGAF. According to the screen, players interested in improving the game’s visuals to the Ultra setting will be able to download an Ultra HD Texture Package. “6GB or greater” VRAM is recommended for the Ultra setting. This recommendation is based on the assumption that players are running the game at 1080p resolution.
It’s worth reiterating that these Ultra settings are completely optional and that the High quality textures require a much more reasonable 3GB of VRAM. Even so, we could still see these requirements being something of a shock to PC gamers, especially when you consider that many recently released graphics cards can’t handle that kind of workload.
Gamers interested in play Shadow of Mordor on any of its settings will be able to pick it up when it releases for PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4 on September 30th.
