There is sad news on the horizon for those that are waiting for Bethesda to release mods on Playstation 4; they've been delayed indefinitely. Wednesday, the official Bethesda Game Studios twitter sent out this tweet;
We regret to say that the PS4 Mods Beta for Fallout 4 has been delayed. We will update everyone when we can.
The mod platform, which is intended to tie into the existing workshop ecosystem existing between the Xbox One and PC versions of the game, was originally going to be going live this month, but that seems like a distant prospect now.
It's not the first time that the PS4 has encountered issues with the shared platform that Bethesda is developing. Earlier this month, Bethesda released an update for the Creation Kit that highlighted the 900 MB limitation on mod storage, as well as a block on using sound files due to Sony's proprietary audio format on the PS4.
As of the time of this writing, it's unknown whether the aforementioned limitations have played into Bethesda delaying the beta, or if there are other factors involved.
