Squad SDK out now on Epic Launcher

Epic Games and developer Offworld Industries have released have released the Official Squad SDK via the Epic Launcher platform.  This will allow players of the realistic online FPS game to create even better, more realistic mods.

The core of Offworld Industries were members of the Project Reality Mod Team for Battlefield 2, as well as RoyAwesome being the Lead Developer for Empires Mod Team for Half-Life 2. We are where we are today because of the access to mod the files of our favorite games years ago.

Squad is an online FPS game that aims to bridge the gap between super-realistic military sims and arcade style shooters, by promoting teamwork and co-operation. It has it's roots in a mod for Battlefield 2 called "Project Reality", and most of the same developers for that mod are involved in the development of this game.

While not, perhaps, the most well-known game, it has a cult following and is definitely one of the better Unreal Engine 4 indie games out there right now. There is also a healthy modding community for the game, which will no doubt continue to grow with the release of these new tools.

The team has had a goal since the first days of this company to “Pay It Forward” and release a full SDK to the public to open up Squad to modding and assist the next generation of realism FPS modders bring about the next iteration of tactical teamwork based, paced and strategic FPS. Several founders will devote substantial amounts of their time bridging between the modding community and the official branch.
