There's a beta version of Steam currently in testing, as you're probably aware, featuring a new game library layout. But there's other new features too, and one new addition to the beta this past week is a feature that lets you revise your rating of a game after putting in more playtime.
The new feature was spotted by redditor PunnyCasual, who noted on the Destiny 2 subreddit that Steam prompted a re-review of the game, with a notification stating "You've played an additional 93 hours. Would you like to revise your review?"
The feature would mean that after putting significantly more hours in after posting their initial review, users can revise that review based on their further experiences. This could go either way, revising your rating down or up, for example.
This will hopefully lead to more balanced reviews on the platform - many gamers may give a game a positive rating on initial impressions only to be disappointed after completing it. Conversely, there's been many games where I've given up after the first hour or so, only to pick it up months later with a completely fresh perspective (Watch Dogs 2 being a recent example...)
What do you think of the new feature? Let us know down in the comments.
