In two weeks, nine Team Fortress 2 hats will be “retired.” That means you will no longer be able to purchase these items in the store, find them through random drops, unbox them as unusuals, or acquire them through crafting. Forever.

You’ll still be able to trade them, but they will effectively become collector’s items with no renewable stock. The full list of items being retired is:

  • Batter’s Helmet
  • Soldier’s Stash
  • Pyro’s Beanie
  • Demoman’s Fro
  • Football Helmet
  • Mining Light
  • Prussian Picklehaube
  • Trophy Belt
  • Fancy Fedora

Existing copies of these items will remain unaffected, so you have two weeks to stock up on what will (artificially) become a rare item. I swear; Valve is a marketing genius.
