A new texture dumping and replacement injector tool has been created which allows modders for Dark Souls 3, should they be brave enough to risk doing so, to replace the textures in the game.

iGP11 is an application by S17L over at Nexus Mods, who has created a tool that allows you to dump textures, and then re-inject them back into the game. The author also expresses the desire to enable replacements of pixel/vertex shaders in the future, but for now, this is simple texture replacement only.

Almost every texture in the game can be replaced with this tool, meaning there is a possibility of some pretty awesome texture mods for the game. High resolution or total conversion texture mods are some of the most popular for any type of game, so it'll be interesting to see what comes over the coming weeks and months.

Of course, the problem with this is that mods for Dark Souls 3 often run the risk of triggering a soft ban by the anti-cheat system, which is possibly one reason mods for the game are not super-popular, and texture mods may be one way to trigger that, especially given the injection method used. Nevertheless, I have no doubt there will be many players who are very pleased to see this tool come along.

You can download the tool now from NexusMods [url=http://www.nexusmods.com/darksouls3/mods/28/?]here[/ur;].
