We love the Dark Souls series here at GameFront, especially our very own James Heaney, who, as an expert gamer, really excels at the truly extraordinarily difficult Action RPG. For some reason though, this difficulty is not enough, and a whole raft of mods exist designed to make the game even harder. I know, right?
There's been something of a resurgence of this lately, with the community anticipating the release of Dark Souls Remastered on Friday. One recently released mod proves to be one of the most challenging yet, though. The premise? Well, the moment you stand still, the mod will dole out a rapid, and it is very rapid, health decrease. As long as you're moving, you're fine, but the second you stand still, well, you need to start moving again or you'll have very few seconds left.
This makes combat really, really difficult.
LokiWhen you're standing still, your health will decrease rapidly, when you're moving, your health will not decrease. How much health is taken away and how fast is dependent on your Vigor Level. Your Estus is also capped at 5 total
There are some requirements to play, such as Cheat Engine, and it will affect stats, so a clean savegame is recommended here, but it is brutal, infuriating and somehow glee-inducing fun to play. There is an online ban risk potentially with this mod, though, so offline play is probably recommended too.
So, if you're interested in a brutal afternoon of non-stop running, you can find out more info at the mod page here.
