The first of The Division 2's free episodic DLC is available right now, and will see players venture, as the name implies, into the outskirts of Washington DC and the Manning National Zoo.
The DLC features two new missions within these locations, and also includes other new additions, including the new Expedition events that allow players to explore new locations, discover new "narrative and gameplay" opportunities, and introduces new special bosses which have their own gameplay mechanics.
There's also lots of puzzles to solve around the game world and new collectables that are unique to DC Outskirts, including a new Diamondback Exotic Rifle, BTSU Exotic Gloves, and a new assault rifle and LMG.
The update has also brought a lot of bug fixes to the original game, as well as changes to how skills and skill mods work. Ubisoft commented on the changes, saying;
We took a hard look at the current meta, the builds that are fun, effective and popular. We knew that skill builds, while it being something people want to play with, was nowhere near competitive. We knew there was an explosives damage build that was on the fringe of popularity, but none that actually relied on really good skill mods driven by skill power.
The changes include changes to the levels of skills mod power levels and the skills themselves, and the cooldown reduction has been replaced altogether with a new skill haste. The details of this can be found in the official patch notes.
