We noted a short while back that the first test for Halo: The Master Chief Collection would launch with Halo: Reach being released to a very small number of Halo Insiders, but it seems that the test release is now being illegally redistributed online, according to 343 industries.
There's a stern warning for those involved, too, as the company have confirmed that any gamers who download and play the leaked pirate version will be banned from Xbox Live and all future and current 343 programs, citing the Microsoft Terms of Service.
The test has been going on since Friday, and is due to end today. It's more of a demo than the full game, with only the Tip of the Spear campaign included.
Apart from being illegal, it seems like a stupid thing to get such a hefty ban for, frankly. There's plenty of footage online to keep gamers going for now. We've got no indication of how widely spread this leaked version is or how many players, if any, have been banned, but we'll be sure to provide any updates as we learn them.
