The Outer Worlds system requirements revealed

By FileTrekker 4 years ago, last updated 4 years ago

We've now learned via a forum post on Obsidian's official website the minimum and recommended system specs for the hotly anticipated The Outer Worlds, an open world RPG that seems to be very much in the spirit of Fallout: New Vegas. The game is due to release next week, but luckily you won't need to rush out to buy upgrades, as the system requirements seem more than reasonable.

Minimum:

  • OS: Windows 7 (SP1) 64bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i3-3225 or AMD Phenom II X6 1100T
  • RAM: 4GB
  • GPU: Nvidia GTX 650 Ti or AMD HD 7850
  • HDD Space: 40GB

Recommended:

  • OS: Windows 10 64bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-7700K  or Ryzen 5 1600
  • RAM: 8GB
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 1060 6GB or Radeon RX 470
  • HDD Space: 40GB

Compared to Red Dead Redemption's 150GB and Modern Warfare's 175GB hard disk requirements, 40GB seems relatively tiny, but very impressive given the undoubtedly huge amount of content we're expecting within the game.

Given how much I love Fallout: New Vegas, I'll be covering the release of The Outer Worlds for sure, so stay tuned to GameFront for a full review and gameplay videos when the game releases.
