CD Projekt has finally unveiled The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt via the latest issue of GameInformer US.
Users on the NeoGAF forums have uploaded scans of the magazine, from which we’ve gleaned that the third installment of the series will feature an open world 40 times as large as The Witcher 2′s and 20% bigger than Skyrim’s. On horseback, it’ll take 40 minutes to traverse. Ships will be available to help you navigate the world, and both horses and ships can be upgraded.
Geralt will be able to travel anywhere in the world, but monsters will not scale to the player’s level. Over 100 hundred hours of scripted quests are to be included, and while bosses will still feature, there are to be no scripted boss fights. CD Projekt hopes to address the difficulty problems of the previous games and is reworking combat.
While no specific platform information was given, the developer did mention “all top-of-the-line” consoles, which not only implies a next-gen release, but that the series is coming to the PlayStation 4 as well.

The only blemish on my excitement over this reveal is that I’m not thrilled about “Wild Hunt” as a subtitle.
