Ion Maiden is a retro classic-style first person shooter created in the Duke Nukem 3D engine, and now the developers, Voidpoint and 3D Realms are promising something big coming on July 11th.
The announcement, on the official Ion Maiden Twitter, simply said;
Announcement coming July 11... You don’t want to miss this! @voidpnt @3DRealms @1C_Company pic.twitter.com/9Cim06WagZ— Ion Maiden (@Bombshell_Game) June 29, 2019
Now, we could speculate (and we will) on what this could mean - hopefully it'll be a release date, as we already know that the game is nearing completion, according to an tweet from VP of 3D Realms Frederik Schreiber not so long ago.
The other possibility is something relating to the recent and now ongoing lawsuit by the band Iron Maiden over the name in question - could we be looking at some kind of legal settlement, maybe even a rename of the game?
We'll just have to wait and see, but stay tuned to GameFront for news of the announcement this July 11th.
