With No Man’s Sky Next, the latest update for the so-far ill-fated No Man’s Sky receiving positive reviews, many players are discovering the game for the very first time. With the inclusion of a full multiplayer experience, enhanced base building, and brand new content, it’s certainly a solid update.
There’s nothing that can’t be improved by mods, though, so we decided to put together a list of our favorite must-have mods for No Man’s Sky.
This mod has a few different options available to download and install, but the aim is to make space feel busier and more vibrant. The first version of the mod gives you a mix of small and large sized creatures, the second removes small creatures’ altogether, and the third makes every creature huge. It’s available to download here.
Sometimes planets in No Man’s Sky can feel a little underwhelming. This mod aims to fix this by turning the dial up to 10, making everything bigger and more sinister. Plants, trees, rocks and other items such as resource crystals will now be bigger and add a little extra something to the planets that you visit. You can download the mod here.
No Man’s Sky uses procedurally generated ships, but they all tend to feel a little generic after a while, often having common themes or parts. This mod makes changes to the generation system that makes ships and freighters more exotic and adds a much more random feel to the game. You can check the mod out here.
Space, well, space is a pretty big place. If you want to get yourself around the galaxy and explore as much as you can, you’ll want to save as much time as you can. This neat mod speeds up the game by removing the waiting circles that appear when interacting, entering a ship, chatting to NPC’s and moving resources, which makes a huge difference to the flow of the game. You can download the mod here.
Ships in No Man’s Sky, while improved, are a bit clunky and unresponsive to control, an issue which is addressed by this mod which adds a more responsive control experience, with a 1:1 ratio between moving your recticle and steering your ship. You can check this mod out here.
