If there's one thing that's just as important as a sweet graphics card of beasty processor, it's having a mightly fine gaming display. Apart from looking amazing, a decent display lets you up your game with better response times and higher frame rates. 

So we figured it was about time we took a look at the best possible gaming monitors on the market in 2021, to give you our roundup for the best gaming monitors money can buy.

5. Samsung CHG90 QLED

QLED, incase you didn't know, stands for Quantum Dot Light-Emitting Diode, but of course, you all knew that, right? What's important is QLED gives you the purest possible white, the best possible brightness, and a larger amount of colors. 

Apart from being the first QLED gaming monitor, it's the widest ultra-wide we've ever seen, with a crazy resolution of 3,840 x 1080. Throw HDR and a 144hz refresh rate and this is a serious contender for immersive gaming experiences such as racing sims, first person shooters and more. Of course, the only downside is the vertical resolution is still, effectively, 1080p, but at 49inches, with all those horizontal pixels, we wouldn't really want to see what the 4K equivalent would be like.

It's around $1,000 on Amazon as of writing, which for a monitor of this class, seems like really good value.

4. Acer Predator X27

This monitor is much smaller, being 27-inches and being your usual 16:9 aspect ratio, but what it lacks in ridiculousness it makes up for in sheer performance, with a 4ms response time, 144hz refresh rate, and a 1,000:1 contrast ratio.

If you're a seriously competitive gamer, then this monitor is a must-have for you - with support for G-Sync also included, and 4K support with it's 3,840 x 2,160 panel. The hardware here is as high end as it gets, and you'll be hard pressed to find a gaming monitor that looks as nice as this.

The downside? It'll cost you around $2,000 on Amazon.

3.  ASUS ROG Swift PG27UQ

This is probably one of the most advanced gaming monitors money can buy - with it's 4K resolution, HDR, G-sync and all the other goodies of the previous entry. It's panel gives a really clear and sharp image, though, and much as you'd come to expect, it's got that signature ROG gaming style.

The good thing though is that, while packing very similar specs to the Acer Predator, it's a much cheaper proposition at aorund $1,500 - although it's still way out of the price range of most consumers, it is a much better value proposition.

2. AOC Agon AG352UCG6

We're back in ultrawide territory with this one, albeit with a more sensible 21:9 aspect ratio. It's got a really nice 35" screen with a 3,440 x 1,440 resolution, an impressive 4ms response time, and hugely impressive colors and contract, making it an impeccable viewing experience, especially for movies.

The only downside is a slightly lower refresh rate at 120hz, and the brightness, while perfectly fine, is a little less than the others in this list at 300 cd/m2. Those things should not put you off, though, as with it's $900 price tag, it's the cheapest in this list so far, and probably the best bang for your buck.

1. BenQ EX3501R

HDR finally comes to the ultra-wide scene in a big way with this awesome and fantastic value monitor from BenQ. It's got all the features you'd want from an ultrawide, with a huge 35" display, 1440p resolution, and the requisit 4ms response time.

The main selling point, though, is it's HDR curved panel. It's the perfect balance at a brilliant value, and HDR really pushes this monitor over the top. Even though it's only got a 100Hz refresh rate, if image quality and jaw-dropping visuals are important to you, then you need this monitor in your life.

An the best bit? It's only $790.
