Gearbox have been busy at PAX West as you'd expect this past week, confirming earlier today that the True Vault Hunter Mode from Borderlands 2 would be returning in Borederlands 3.
The mode was basically a harder difficulty that you could unlock after completing the main game the first time around. When you restart in True Vault Hunter Mode in Borderlands 3, you'll retain your guns, equipment and stats, but you'll find far more enemies than before which are much more difficult to defeat, with some enemies even being completely reworked.
Loot and XP rewards also increase in the new mode, to give players a chance to make it to the end, but it will prove to be something of a challenge for even the most experienced Borderlands players.
The company also revealed that completing the game will also unlock something called Guardian Ranks, which will be a progression system similar to the Badass Ranks in Borderlands 2. There will be rewards given when you complete challenges, and a new Mayhem Mode that will randomize the enemies and events to really throw you off.
