Posted on December 6, 2012, Ross Lincoln Turns Out Molyneux Isn’t Quitting After All

Peter Molyneux may have had everyone kind of ready to wish him a fond farewell when he recently hinted that he had only one more game left in him. Not that we hate him of course. He’s everyone’s favorite crazy uncle who happens to make great games which often fall short of perfection. But in a year of often inscrutable craziness, the idea that he would actually quit the game was an absurdity begging for an audience of rapt gamers eager to see what he’d say next.

As expected, it turns out he isn’t retiring after all! He broke the news to Games Industry.

“I wasn’t in any way announcing my retirement or saying I’m going to throw myself off the nearest bridge after my next game,” Molyneux said. “I’m either going to stop making games when everyone in the world just hates the games I make or the day when I die. I feel more passionate, more engaged, more energetic about making games now than I ever have. The thought of retirement is abhorrent to me. I would have to be in some vegetative state to consider retirement.”

Duly noted. Now, go and feel safe in the knowledge that Molyneux will be with us for the foreseeable future.
