Grab your flashlights and your plasma cutters: Visceral Games is bringing us back to the Sprawl for some Dead Space 2 multiplayer, care of two new maps the company is giving away for free.
The two maps, Academy and Concourse, set the multiplayer action in a few locations from the single-player campaign that didn’t make it into multiplayer. The first is the elementary school that’s home to some of DS2′s creepiest moments; the second is the mall where Isaac repeatedly gets ambushed by all manner of fiends.
In the Academy, human players will be tasked with activating a decontamination system to kill off the necromorphs, and on the Concourse, they’ll be attempting to signal a rescue ship to get them the hell out of there. The goal for the necromorphs in both cases is to eviscerate all humans.
The fresh maps drop on Xbox Live on May 31 (that’s Tuesday). They’re available to download on the Playstation Network on Friday, June 3 — assuming the Playstation Store is back live by then, I guess. Check back here after the maps drop on Xbox Live, when we’ll let you know how Visceral’s add-ons stack up in Dead Space 2′s multiplayer.
