Ubisoft has released a visual introduction to the French Revolution for Assassin’s Creed: Unity.

The end result, a five minute and 14 second YouTube video gives a brief run through of the events leading up to the revolution, the overthrow of the French aristocracy, the rise of Maximilien de Robespierre and his subsequent fall as the country descended into paranoia and chaos.

The video was created in cooperation with musician and horror film maker Rob Zombie. It illustration, meanwhile, was handled by Tony Moore, the co-creator of The Walking Dead comic series with coloring from John Rauch and finishing work by the Justin “Angryblue” Kamerer.

Assassin’s Creed: Unity itself is currently set to release on October 28th, 2014 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
