Posted on June 20, 2008, Jonathan Ubisoft is So Successful, They Don't Need to Make a New Assassin's Creed Anytime Soon
Ubisoft is doing pretty well for itself these days, to say the very very least. In the past year they’ve more than doubled it’s net income, thanks mainly to their hit stealth game, Assassin’s Creed. These days, they’re on their way to becoming the world’s third largest video game publisher after EA and Activision.
The downside to all this success, at least for gamers? They don’t even need to worry about putting out a follow-up to Assassin’s Creed anytime soon. They’re following the same approach as with the Prince of Persia series, according to Laurent Detoc, by slowing down it’s production so that anticipation for it will build. Of course, this will probably all be worth it in the end, since that will give the developers much more time to get the game right (and hopefully iron out some of its shortcomings).
