The EA Sports Online Pass arrives next month with Tiger Woods 11, but THQ’s UFC Undisputed 2010, hitting next week, will feature a similar feature. The feature is so similar, in fact, that it’s actually the same feature. Like with the Online Pass, players will need a code to make use of any of UFC’s online functions, including the new online Fight Camp, which allows folks to train together.
Like Online Pass, a code will come with new copies of the game. Like Online Pass, those who rent or buy the game used can purchase a code. Unlike Online Pass, which costs $10 for a code, the UFC code will cost only $5.
Now I can’t help but wonder who came up with this idea first. But that matters less than the fact that this idea is popular enough to be implemented in almost every major sports title going forward.
