It’s difficult to say whether Steam’s newly implemented system of Trading Cards has been a success for the company, especially given their reticence in revealing much—if anything—about their business practices to the public. However, with that said, the company continues to iterate on existing features and plans to move the system out of beta this coming Wednesday, on June 26.
This means that all the features beta testers have been testing will be made available to the public at large, and the system itself will see the addition of several new games.
According to Valve, a few features that were originally planned for release—Trade Offers and the Card Binder—have been pushed back to a later date. It’s only a matter of Valve Time before they’re released.
Valve says that making trading cards available to all Steam users is but a step towards “an event we think everyone can be excited about.” It’s anyone’s guess as to what they’re talking about.
