Valve may be adding an analog stick to its in-the-works controller.

Discovered in the latest edition of Steam’s beta client, a new image of the download service’s controller would seem to indicate that the company will be replacing one of its dual directional touch pads with an analog stick more in line with other conventional controllers.

Valve, for its part, has yet to confirm whether or not this image will, in fact, be the new face of the Steam controller. That being the case, if it makes this new change official it would represent another significant shift from the original design which, earlier this year, also received a makeover in the way of revised button placements.

We’ve reached out to Valve for a comment and let you know when we receive any updates.
