Posted on October 26, 2010, Phil Owen Video Game Football Leads to Murder in Kansas!

Football is important. After Alabama beat LSU in overtime in 2008, an LSU fan took a pistol to an Alabama fan’s house, but he forgot to account for the Alabama fan’s shotgun, which soon after caused the LSU fan’s death. Football is life or death out in the flyover states, and don’t you forget it.

But let’s have some perspective here. While it’s not really unreasonable to kill someone over an actual football game, it’s way unreasonable to kill someone over a fake football game, which is what police in Wichita, KS suspect that guy in the picture did.

According to a Wichita police homicide bro, that guy, Benjamin Redgate, Redgate’s brother and a guy named Luke German were playing some football on PS3, and then a fight broke out. And then Luke was dead in the front yard.

This is very sad. Also, video games didn’t cause this. Crazy people caused this.
