Posted on December 13, 2012, James Murff Vindictus Introduces Vella, Sword-Slinging Fighter Extraordinaire
The very first character that Vindictus ever gave us was Lann, the nimble twin-sword-wielding warrior. It’s only fitting that, after hitting every other character archetype over the years, Nexon finally revisited their first character for the start of Season 2 and brought us something similar-but-different. Vella is a fighter in the same vein as Lann, but given that Nexon wants to make every character look and play differently from each other, she’s not just a gender-bent clone. She’s far more deadly than that.
Despite sharing a few moves, Vella is far more agile and movement-based than Lann. If your reflexes are up to the task, you will find her sweeping attacks and constant repositioning very favorable for avoiding even the nastiest of Fomors and great for fighting those big bruiser bosses like the Gnoll Chieftain. Unfortunately, this also means that she isn’t quite the damage powerhouse that Lann is, which forces her to sustain longer combos to deal relatively the same amount of damage. As a good chunk of battle time in Vindictus is spent fighting many enemies, we’re sure it won’t be too much of an issue. If you want a character that feels like she was ripped from God of War or Devil May Cry, then Vella is your best choice.
