Posted on August 1, 2011, Phil Hornshaw Vote on Facebook to Construct a Character for Skyrim

Much like BioWare’s Female Shepard voting scheme on Facebook, which was announced during San Diego Comic-Con 2011, Bethesda is getting in on the crowd-sourced character action.

Today on its Elder Scrolls Facebook page, Bethesda is asking for player input on several polls that will go toward shaping a new character for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, to show off some of the other races and character classes that can appear in the game. Bethesda says it’s acknowledging that while the Nord character is pretty damn cool and has been basically the face of the Skyrim brand up to now. That’s not really indicative of how many players will approach the game, however — many will play as a different race character, or as several different characters and races.

Voting on the character is taking place now on Facebook — right here — and goes through 9 a.m. tomorrow. At that time, Bethesda will whip up a screen shot of the new character.
