Posted on January 10, 2011, Phil Hornshaw Wahlberg: I’m Totally Playing Nathan Drake
Despite everyone on the Internet knocking the choice, Mark Wahlberg is continuing to insist that he’s doing the Uncharted movie, and that it’s happening soonish.
We’re taking Wahlberg with a grain of salt because director David O. Russell is talking about delaying the Uncharted project, and Wahlberg doesn’t seem to be exactly clued into this. Then again, what the hell do we know? He’s the actor guy.
Moviehole has an interview with Wahlberg that has all kinds of terrible information: 1. That he is, indeed, not Nathan Fillion; 2. That Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci will play his dad and uncle; 3. That filming could start sometime mid-year (he hopes) — that’s this year.
Fellow Fronter Ross Lincoln thinks the Uncharted film will never happen. That’s supported by Naughty Dog’s Justin Richmond, director of Uncharted 3, who kind of sounds like the company is a little panicked about the film’s direction, just like we are.
At least “Castle” just got picked up for a fourth season. Figured I’d throw some good news in the post to lighten it up a bit.
