Posted on January 4, 2013, James Murff War Z Attacked by Hackers Multiple Times
The War Z is having quite the troubled development cycle. On top of all the struggles the game and its developers are having, from being pulled from Steam to a trademark dispute, comes news that hackers have hit the servers twice. The first attack reset their DNS, making it impossible to connect. This was fixed fairly quickly, but as DNS takes time to propagate, it took a while to fix for everyone The second is a concentrated DDOS attack aiming at bringing down the server with far too much traffic. This was fixed as well, although it took a bit longer. The biggest concern is that these sorts of attacks are certainly likely to crop up again in the future, given the rather controversial nature of War Z.
