According to the folk at Wowhead who are extremely keen-eye'd they have looked into the code of the new launcher and it contains text like "w3_beta" and other text specifying pre-release messages.

Blizzcon is only round the corner and some news about the remastered game would be welcoming considering the radio silence the game development has undergone so far. It would be the perfect time just before Blizzcon and of course before Christmas to get some news out about the games release date, all pre-orders point to a New Years Eve date which is arguably just a placeholder but you never know, it'd be a pretty sweet New Years Day present!
