NCM’s Fathom and MGM and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment is celebrating the 25th anniversary of WarGames by bringing it back to the big screen for a one night special engagement. On Thursday, July 24th at 7:30 p.m. local time, more than 300 theaters across North America will be showing the movie along with a special feature including interviews with the cast and crew of WarGames. Matthew Broderick who plays the main character David Lightman and co-star Ally Sheedy as well as others will discuss the making of the 1983 WarGames movie.
In this fast-paced cyber-thriller, computer hacker Lightman [Broderick] can bypass the most advanced security systems, break the most intricate secret codes and master even the most difficult computer games. But when he unwittingly taps into the Defense Department’s war computer, he initiates a confrontation of global proportions: World War III! Together with his girlfriend (Sheedy) and a wizardly computer genius (Tony Award® winner John Wood), Lightman must race against time to outwit his opponent…and prevent a nuclear Armageddon.
