Posted on September 26, 2013, Mike Sharkey Warners Pitches Batman: Arkham Origins DLC
I’m gaming’s version of the grumpy old man. I don’t pre-order and I don’t like all these fancy-shmancy DLC packs. I also walked five miles to school every day. Uphill in the snow. Both ways.
So today’s news of at least five DLC packs for Batman: Arkham Origins, and the first five available right now for pre-order in the form of a $20 season pass gets my blood a-boilin’, dagnabbit! Back in my day, you would pre-order a game to ensure you got a physical copy on launch day. Plain and simple. Now, in the days of digital downloads and with GameStops on every corner, not to mention just about every major retailer selling videogames, there’s just no need. Now you want me to pre-order DLC? *Shaking grumpy old man fist*
Warners revealed the Batman: Arkham Origins Season Pass today and it includes the following DLC:
- Gotham by Gaslight Batman Skin and Brightest Day Batman Skin
- New Millennium Skins Pack
- Infinite Earths Skins Pack
- Arkham Origins Initiation: Play as Bruce Wayne before he became Batman, and face his final test to prove himself worthy to his greatest teacher, Kirigi.
- An all-new story campaign
Hey, where’s the Adam West, classic TV series Batman skin? Sigh.
The Season Pass can be yours now or at launch for $20, which Warners suggests is a savings over buying each pack individually. It’s also worth noting that Warners says the Season Pass includes “five of” Batman’s DLC, so it appears there is even more in store.
