InXile put up one hell of a fight to get Wasteland 2 funded on Kickstarter, and they’re making good on their promise to provide regular updates on their development of the game. When last we heard of the game, InXile was seeking to crowdsource the development of its graphical assets.
With the game now in full production, the studio says that they’re making “great strides” in developing its systems. In their latest, and 22nd update, the studio says they plan to showcase some actual gameplay in a video update “within a month or so”. The video will also provide viewers with a glimpse of the Agricultural Center, which was designed by Chris Avellone, best known for his work at Obsidian Entertainment.
“You’ll see a team of four Rangers running around in the world, some early working HUD elements, a few combat encounters, a taste of dialog, and the ranger team using some of their skills. We’ve been working on each of these systems separately and this is the first time we’ve put them all together to get a small sample of the gameplay experience,” reads the update by the game’s producer, Chris Keenan.
In addition to its updates on Kickstarter, the studio is also sharing its process over on Twitter at @RangerKeenan. If you’ve backed the Kickstarter, it’s not a bad idea to follow up on their progress of the game.
