Watch Dogs has sold more than 4 million units in its first week on the market.
This news was announced today by Ubisoft who stated that the game’s rapid sales had made it the fastest selling title in the company’s history.
“The results we achieved in the first week of launch are amazing and prove Ubisoft’s commitment to developing new blockbuster IP and thoroughly new-gen experiences,” said Darren Bowen, Ubisoft’s UK Sales Director.
Setting aside the fact that Watch Dogs launched to a massive customer base thanks to its availability on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, the game’s early success is unlikely to surprise many people. Heck, just last month, GameStop had already confirmed that the game was breaking pre-order records, all but guaranteeing it some decent numbers once it finally landed on store shelves. All of this said, these are still impressive sales and it will be interesting to see just how many copies gamers eventually buy.
