The developers of Battlefield 4, DICE, have put up a video preview of the upcoming game’s new Spectator Mode. The newly implemented mode allows viewers to view a player’s match in first- and third-person view, with full control over the camera. Both cameras allow spectators to keep track of all aspects of their selected player, including their inventory.

In addition to first- and third-person views, there are five free camera modes available to spectators, allowing users to move freely about the map. These cameras can be placed at preset locations throughout the map and switched between at any time. In other words, the system is designed for casting professional games.

Battlefield 4 is due for an October release on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game is also in development for next-gen platforms.
