Mark of the Ninja developer Klei Entertainment took to Twitch.tv today to showcase their latest upcoming game, Incognita.

Designed as a turn-based tactical espionage game, Incognita can be best described as XCOM with spies and agents.

Incognita requires players to build a team of agents (or a single agent) to invade a secure complex, which is made up of several floors. As players work their way up the building, they’ll have to hunt for Intel, documents, and use pieces of gear to help them proceed through various obstacles in the building. Objectives throughout the mission include hacking computers and breaching safes.

According to the developers, the current build of the game allows players to build a team consisting of up to six members. Permadeath is an element of the game, so you can lose members of your team permanently if you aren’t careful.

Much like XCOM: Enemy Unknown, the levels are procedurally generated, so you’ll never have any idea what to expect along the way.

The game is expected to go into beta within a month or two.
