Oh, you want to talk about next-gen? How about a brand new Sega Genesis with 80 games built-in for $39.99?

AtGames (never heard of them until now) is still selling the “Sega Genesis Classic Game Console” in North America. I think this machine has been around since last year, but there seems to be a holiday blitz happening, as you can find it literally anywhere (seriously, my local grocery store has a stack of them at the end of the chips and soda aisle). The console comes with two Genesis-looking wireless controllers, and there are two controller ports if you want to use an older, wired Genesis controller, too. 80 games are built into whatever flash memory the gizmo has on board — 40 of the games are classic Genesis titles, while the other 40 are…well I’m not totally sure. The kicker? You can use actual Genesis cartridges with the console, too, which could breathe new life into that cardboard box of games in your mother’s attic.

Most stores, including Amazon, are selling it for about $50, but Bed Bath & Beyond has it for $39.99. I know what I’m getting my older brothers for Christmas now…
