Our series of E3 2012 game developer interviews with video host Wil Wheaton continues with Jeffrey Yohalem, the lead writer for Far Cry 3. Check out the interview above, in which Yohalem explains his thoughts on telling interactive stories, the advancements of motion capture technology as it relates to writing, and the ways in which game writing can often get in the player’s way with heavy-handed techniques such as cutscenes. For Yohalem, interactivity is key, and that’s what he says he’s tried to achieve in Far Cry 3.
