Posted on February 10, 2013, Ian Miles Cheong Wildman Kickstarter Looks All But Doomed
Wildman‘s chances of getting funded on Kickstarter look really slim at this point. With only four days left on the clock, the fund for the game has yet to even breach the halfway mark to the 1.1 million it requires, languishing at a meager 478K as of this time.
The current figure falls way short of the amount of funding Chris Taylor and his team require to develop the game, and may see the exit of Gas Powered Games from the videogame industry.
In spite of, or rather due to the gloomy prospect, the team at Gas Powered Games appears to be scrambling to create as much fanfare as they can for the game, by updating the Kickstarter project page with a veritable torrent of information and imagery of the foreseeably doomed project. Gas Powered Games has held daily live streams to showcase their plans to the public and participate in a number of interviews with gaming websites to boost the signal.
Should it fail, the Wildman Kickstarter may end up a footnote in crowdfunding history as the highest profile game to fail.
Given the company’s history as the makers of Supreme Commander and the woefully under-appreciated Demigod, many hope that the situation will change within the next couple of days.
