Wing Commander and creator Chris Roberts has successfully turned many gaming journalists, including this one, into mere repeaters of public relations information, thanks to the announcement that he intends to make an announcement about a new game, on October 10.

What’s the announcement going to consist of? Who knows? All we have is just a silly countdown clock on his official site. Obviously, this is news of earth-shattering importance, otherwise, he’d just announce it when it’s time to announce it, rather than creating buzz in the most hackneyed way possible. Right?
