Posted on August 8, 2012, Phil Hornshaw Witcher 2 Producer’s RPG is Dark Souls-Inspired Lords of the Fallen
Tomasz Gop, former producer on The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings back in April teased a new RPG he was working on at City Interactive, with few details. But now we have some details: it’s called Lords of the Fallen, and it’s taking some of it’s inspiration from the super-hard Dark Souls.
The game is supposedly being published by City Interactive, with a few interesting tidbits pulled from the LinkedIn profile of City Interactive’s Tomasz Gop, who also was a senior producer on The Witcher 2. We’re looking at an action-RPG that takes combat inspiration from Dark Souls as well as Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and (somewhat surprisingly) Batman: Arkham City.
Here’s the direct quote from Gop’s profile:
“Action-RPG title set within a medieval fantasy world ruled by a Fallen God. Fighting against the formidable Lords and Generals that command his demonic army is one of game’s strongest features. LORDS of the FALLEN rewards skill and persistence among hardcore Action-RPG fans; it presents players with great challenges followed by greater rewards and satisfaction. The story plot and twists allow approaching the conflict between humans and demons from various perspectives.”
Expect Lords of the Fallen to hit PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 next year.
