WiiAre you sick of trying to get your Wii to work through the WiFi stick? Are you having compatibility issues with the WiFi stick? Well, here’s a little something to alleviate that.

It’s being reported that Taiwanese company Gemtek Technology will be producing a WLAN router branded for Nintendo, and to be used exclusively with the Wii. Market sources in Taiwan are claiming that as many as 50,000 of the routers could be shipped per month in the second half of 2007.

Those same sources are also claiming that Gemtek is increasing production of the WLAN modules in an effort to reach a quota of two million units for calendar year 2007, up from 1.2 million units in 2006.

The sources also claim that Gemtek is increasing production of the Wii’s WLAN modules to reach a quota of two million units for the 2007 calendar year. This would represent a sharp increase from 2006′s total of 1.2 million units.

Keep in mind that the DigiTimes report doesn’t cite any sources, so take this info with a grain of salt. Gemtek declined comment on the report, citing client confidentiality.
