It seems Mists of Pandaria‘s anti-war message is having an effect on its players, as one dedicated fan has leveled up a fresh character from 1 to 90 without killing a single creature.

What’s more is that the player accomplished this without the aid of guild mates, shortcuts, exploits, or even quest completion XP — the XP came entirely from professions and exploration. The entire run took roughly 12 days worth of play time.

On the battle.net forums, the player posted:

“Just to be clear it was a solo effort and 100% of xp 1-90 came from good old fashioned grinding of professions and exploration. No gimmicks or shortcuts like raf were used.”

While that doesn’t sound particularly fun to me, it’s nice to hear that people who do find such challenges enjoyable aren’t obliged to kill monsters.

Would you ever challenge yourself to not kill in a game virtually designed around the concept of killing things?
