Posted on May 19, 2010, Ron Whitaker World of Warcraft Remote Auction House Now in Beta
For those of you who just can’t get enough World of Warcraft, Blizzard is currently beta testing an app that will allow you to access the auction house from just about anywhere.
Available on the iPod Touch, iPhone, and the web, the Remote Auction house will let you browse, buy and sell items in your realm’s Auction House. You’ll even be able to collect gold from auctions you’ve sold. Once the app goes live, you’ll need a World of Warcraft Remote subscription to use premium features like buying, selling and collecting gold, but during the beta, it’s all free.
For those of you who don’t own the required Apple devices, you can use the online version of the tool.
While I’m not sure I need to be able to check the Auction House from the airport, I can see how some players could find this tool very useful, especially if they’re out somewhere (or at work) and need to pick up potions in preparation for tonight’s raid.
The beta is currently limited to a selected group of servers, but will be expanded as testing goes on. You can find a full list of the servers currently supported in the beta after the break.
