The Xbox One will allow owners of the console to get their games on day one without ever having to leave the house. Microsoft confirmed through its games licensing page that players will have a variety of ways to acquire their games, including the ability to do so digitally.
It’s like Steam. Once you buy the game online you can play it as soon as it’s installed. Boom. Done. It’s as quick and simple as that.
Here’s what Microsoft says:
Buy the way you want—disc or digital—on the same day: You’ll be able to buy disc-based games at traditional retailers or online through Xbox Live, on day of release. Discs will continue to be a great way to install your games quickly.
It might be the only good news we’ve seen about the console since its announcement.
