Microsoft has rolled out PC drivers for the Xbox One controller, courtesy of Major Nelson.

Over on his blog, Microsoft spokesman Larry Hryb (better known as Major Nelson) wrote that while the company plans to include the drivers in a future update for Windows, he wanted to make the drivers available, “to our dedicated PC gamers on MajorNelson.com.”

While the drivers are said to, “enable the Xbox One controller to be used with any game that featured gamepad support for the Xbox 360 controller,” there is a caveat: You have to play wired. That’s right, despite the eight months or so that have passed since the Xbox One launched, there’s still no wireless adapter for the controller on PC. Still, at least there are drivers now.

You can grab the drivers from the links below, but here’s my question: Is the lack of wireless support a deal-breaker for you, or are you perfectly happy to plug in a micro-USB cable and play?
