You'd be forgiven for thinking Dead Island 2 had gone the way of abandonware, given there's been very little said about the game since way back in 2014, but happily for fans of the first game, THQ have confirmed the game is still under development, although there wasn't much else.
During a financial presentation meant for investors and shareholders, THQ Nordic's Lars Wingefors confirmed that "Dead Island 2 is still being worked on. Stay tuned." - literally nothing else was mentioned about the game unfortunately.
It's been nearly nine years since the original Dead Island released, and while it's still a fantastic game, fans have been clamouring for more ever since. The new title won't be developed by the original team, though, as Techland went their seperate ways to work on titles such as Dying Light.
Sumo Digital still list the game on their website, so we believe they may still be developing this new instalment in the series, but the development arrangements have changed a few times already in the past. Stay tuned to GameFront for more on Dead Island 2 as we learn it.
