Settlement building has proven to be one of the standout features of Fallout 4, with many players choosing to focus their playtime exclusively on this aspect of the game. Unfortunately these players have had no way to share their creations, until now.
The new Transfer Settlements mod from author cdante, with the help of others, lets you share your creations by exporting all or part of your settlements as a blueprint, which you can then give to others to explore and expand upon. This is a great step up from simply sharing screenshots or videos online with no level of interaction.
As you can see from the above video, the mod works by having a set of options available under a selectable holotape that is in the player's inventory, which gives the option to export settlements as blueprints, and import ones which have been downloaded and shared by the community.
The experience seems pretty solid, too, but be aware that you would need to save your current settlements as blueprints if you want to restore them later. It's also probably a good idea not to do this kind of thing on one of your main save games.
