At the Mojang panel at Minecon this evening, one smart attendee decided to ask if we would be able to build our own levels for Oxeye’s side-scrolling action title Cobalt. The answer?

“Yes.”

Yes, we will be able to build our own levels in Cobalt. That’s very good.

The next question asked was about avatars — whether or not we’d be able to use avatars other than the one shown in the game demo.

One of the developers then showed another demo with a new furry animal avatar. So I guess the answer to that question was yes as well.

Cobalt is shaping up to be pretty interesting and solid, with lots of customization. It’s mostly everything you would probably want, assuming it’s fun to play of course.
