YouTube star and gaming critic John Bain, known as TotalBiscuit, has sadly passed away at the age of just 33.
The announcement was made on Twitter by Bain's wife Genna, who posted a poem of remembrance. Bain had suffered a long battle against bowl cancer, since being diagnosed in May 2014, and had recently retired from posting gaming critic videos due to his health.
Bain was a massive advocator of PC gaming and the modification scene, and while best known for his TotalBiscuit YouTube channel, he also was involved in many avenues of the gaming scene, from podcasts, commentary and more. He was also a host of the Co-Optional podcast, and made vlogs on a number of issues, including his battle against cancer.
John helped so many gamers find great PC games, spoke out about many industry issues, and was a positive force for good within the gaming community. In his final public post, he said;
It’s been a privilege, thank you all for letting me into your life and do something so important as to have an impact on how you spend your hard-earned money.
GameFront would like to express our sorrow and condolences to the family & friends of John Peter Bain, aka @Totalbiscuit, who passed away today at the age of just 33. Thank you for being one of the best gaming critics of all time.
